Hello again!
Here we have a beautiful stone face fireplace here in Bel Air, MD. The customer would like their 55" Vizio flat screen LCD TV installed above the fireplace on the stone. This is a bit of a challenge since this type of stone is laying sideways and is very narrow. There is not a whole lot of stone to allow a decent sized steel anchor to be drilled in without running the risk of cracking the stone itself. What's even more difficult is trying to drill an adjacent hole for the other side of the mount on a completely different stone that by a small miracle will keep the flat screen TV mount installed completely level.
In preparation for the TV installation the customer had the builder in Bel Air run an HDMI cable and a set of component cables. This was a very smart decision because running cable through a stone fireplace for a TV installation is in most cases an impossible task.
Because of were the builder in Bel Air, placed the electrical and HDMI cables for the TV, Digital EDGE was very limited as to where the TV could be installed on the wall. After measuring many times and installing the brackets on the back of the LCD TV at the precise location the TV was installed just above the high mantle.
If you notice the mantle above the fireplace is rather high and the room is relativity short. So Digital EDGE wanted to keep the flat screen LCD TV installed as low as possible to prevent the viewer from looking up to high. In the end you could just barley fit a finger between the fireplace mantle and the installed LCD TV.
The Flat screen LCD TV installed above the fireplace looks great and frees up a ton of floor space. This room in Bel Air, MD is very narrow and honestly the best place for the large 55" Flat screen LCD TV is above the fireplace and not in a corner. Now that the flat screen LCD TV is installed above the stone fireplace the customer is free to get a smaller piece of furniture to hold the cable box and PlayStation 3. The old entertainment stand was sucking up about 8 square feet of the room all by itself.
Having the flat screen LCD TV installed above the stone fireplace also provides a great view of the TV from the kitchen and the dinning area. This customer in Bel Air, MD is very happy with their above the fireplace Flat screen LCD TV installation by Digital EDGE.
